GWC is a small watchmaking studio in Guwahati, Assam. We started with a question — what if a watch was built to be permanent? — and answered it by sealing a real quartz movement in a single pour of resin. Every watch is cast to order, one at a time, a few steps from the Brahmaputra.
The Origin
Born in a workshop above Fancy Bazaar.
Guwahati Watch Company began in a one-room workshop above the old trading lanes of Fancy Bazaar, where a single question kept coming back: why does every watch pretend it will be opened again? We stopped pretending. Our first casts sealed working quartz movements in resin, permanently, and people asked to buy them off our wrists.
Everything we make is shaped by the city — resin tints named for the river at dawn, the island temple in its stream, the crimson shrine on the hill. We cast in small batches, cure slowly in the Assam humidity we know by heart, and number every piece. No two are identical, and none can ever be opened.
